Thing #3 Blogs and Avatars
Making an Avatar reminded me of when I used to play paper dolls growing up. It was so much fun to try on all the outfits, I must have saved a dozen different avatars! I think I uploaded it correctly but I an not sure, as I can not see anyone's avatar on my computer today. It was working yesterday but that was before my husband cut the DSL cable last night when raising the sprinkler heads in our yard! Yes, after two trips to Home Depot the cable is fixed....but no avatars today!

Congrats on your start on 23 Things! We found a fix for the Yahoo Avatars this morning. We think there's something wrong with the html code. So here's what to do to get around that:
ReplyDelete1. Go to your avatar on the Yahoo page. Click export like before.
2. Right click on the avatar and choose "save as" or the like.
3. Save the picture to your desktop with a name you will remember (as a picture -- .jpeg)
4. Go back to your blog and choose "customize".
5. Click on your avatar gadget (it's an html gadget) and click "remove" when it asks if you are sure, say "yes". You are sure.
6. Click “add gadget” and choose the picture gadget. Make sure “from your computer” is selected and click “browse”.
7. Find where you saved your avatar, select it, and click “open”.
8. Click “save”.
9. Click “save” again, just in case.
10. Click view blog. Your avatar should show up.
If you are still having trouble, let me know!
you did upload correctly and maybe you have read enough postings to realize that there is a work around the problem. Save your avatar as a picture (jpg file) and use the picture gadget instead of the html gadget to put it in your blog!
